Seeking New Establishments to Work With:

Thank you for your interest in Honey So Good LLC. It’s been quite a journey over the last several years as we continue to grow our honey business. We have had some very interesting opportunities along the way and continue to meet a very supportive group of folks that we take a lot of pride in supplying high-quality products to. We believe that there are likely some establishments out there that we have yet to meet who would be interested in working with us. Whether this would be via carrying our product at your establishment ‘as is’ or perhaps use of our products for a menu item or drink recipe, we’d love to hear from you. We may not be a fit for every situation, but let’s have the discussion and see how we might be able to work together.

Our Beginning

Honey So Good ® Apiary started as a mission of the Community Garden at Oak Grove Lutheran Church. The garden works to end food insecurities in our area. It was decided to start honey bee hives as a means of increasing the yield of the garden. As we began this work we realized the critical role honeybees serve in our ecosystems and the necessary role beekeepers play in honeybee survival. Before long we were putting hives all over Beaver and Butler County while taking every opportunity to educate our communities about the value of this marvelous insect. This community effort to end poverty, care for creation, and educate the public was, and continues to be the driving force behind Honey So Good ®

“Life began in a garden, and the honey bee made it flourish.”

— Christian D. Shaffer, FOUNDER

With the humble beginnings of an idea and one hive, we have been able to expand to a over a dozen hives. We have provided others with the opportunity to learn about honey bees, have provided “hand’s on” experience with hives, and have shared the process of honey extraction.

Pollinators both managed and feral are struggling due to disease and non-native vector’s like the varroa mite. Bee keeping has become an important stewardship effort required to ensure the health of the honey bee population and viability of the American agricultural industry and food supply.
